St. Patty's Hop :)
Welcome to my Hop Stop !!!!!!!!!
I was lucky enough...Luck of the Irish and all... to have the opportunity to visit Ireland a couple of years back. It's one of those places everyone says 'Oh I want to go there someday' well bump this country to the top of your list. The people are lovely, the food wonderful (this surprised me) and the sites GRAND.
Here are a few pics from my trip. Enjoy
The Giants Causeway AMAZING. A must see if your there. A full day trip into Northern Ireland from Dublin. You will have to switch from the Euro to the pound just a heads up.
The Cliffs of Insanity AKA Moher a day trip from Dublin.
Dublin, lovely city, charming friendly people and tons to see. Get a hop and ride pass. Also be prepared to tell them your story they want to know...Really they get put out when you won't share. They love a good story.
Irish thatched roof cottage :)
Me under the wishing tree on the Hill of Tara. Me here at home wishing I could be back in Ireland.
Happy St Patrick's Day :)

I love those photos :) It reminds me sort of of where I grew up in WV, and even kind of like Seattle. Lots of green, and, especially in Seattle, lots of water. I've only been out of the US to go to Canada (never even had a passport...imagine how well *that* went coming back into the US with a busload of school students who were told they didn't need more than a photo id). Ireland is one of the places I want to go. I imagine it's beautiful, and while it still has that rustic feel to it, it's modernizing in a way that seems less harmful to the culture.
ReplyDeleteOn top of my bucket list, though, I want to get a skydiving license. I've done tandem jumps and loved it. I developed fibromyalgia though, so that's on hold (it hurt me before this health problem when the parachute opened and jerked up on the harness, would be 10x worse now.) But doctors will smarten up and figure out how to treat it. I may be a little old lady by that point, but I am getting trained to solo jump one way or another!
(email is in my blogger profile, left hand side of the page after you click on 'smiles' if you're not familiar with it :) )
I'm still jealous and now looking at these pictures, I want to go even worse than before. Someday....
ReplyDeleteThe photos are absolutely beautiful. The countryside looks awesome. It still looks very quaint once you get away from the city, I like that. I would love to go to Hawaii with my husband. We've talked about doing it for our 30th anniversary... Happy St Patrick's Dayđź’– dachshundlady@comcast.net.đź’ťđź’ť
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos! I would love to travel around the world !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo's! I used to have a quite a bucket list but I sort of knocked it out over the last 10 years. I still want to surf Bell's Beach in Australia and if possible set one foot over the arctic circle, then run back to the heat of southern California.

Great pictures. I don't have a bucket list. If I want to do something I do it, you never know how long you've got.

Both of my paternal grandparents were from Ireland and I have always wanted to go and meet my extended family. This and skydiving are at the top of my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteI always forget the flinging flanging email.
